Vladimir Leyetchkiss began his piano studies in Baku, Russia and later studied at the Moscow Conservatory. He emigrated from Russia to the United States in 1974, where he has built a reputation as a concert pianist, teacher and a transcriber, specializing in Russian and Romantic music. Leyetchkiss has performed throughout the U.S. and Europe. He has appeared as soloist at national conventions of the American Liszt Society and the International Rachmaninoff Society and served as a juror for many piano competitions. His recordings for Orion, Centaur, and Classic Digital include Beethoven’s Diabelli Variations and Sonata Opus 109, “Russian Virtuoso Piano Music,” “Great Piano Transcriptions,” “Taneyev and Scriabin,” “My Favorite Tchaikovsky,” “Russian Piano Masterpieces” and his most recent compact disc, “Russian Reveries.”
