Sandro Lazzeri

Attracted to music at an early age, Lazzeri became a master of classical guitar from his studies at the Conservatory of Perugia and teachers such as David Russell, Leo Brouwer, Alirio Diaz, Hubert Kappel, Costas Cotsiolis.  He concertizes extensively with numerous ensembles in Rome, Spoleto, Perugia, Assisi and has been part of music festivals throughout all of Italy, France and Germany.  Lazzeri’s repertoire includes masterpieces for guitar by Vivaldi, Joaquin Rodrigo and Hector Villa-Lobos.  In 2002 he founded the Alvarez Guitar Quartet which has recorded and concertized frequently, and in 2005 founded Cante Jondo that specializes in the music of Federico Garci-Lorca.  In 2007 Sandro Lazzeri created Guitar Project Orchestra.  He continues to perform contemporary works for guitar, theatrical works, radio, television and prestigious music festivals.  It is an honor for Chiesa Nuova to sponsor his U.S. debut.
